Good news for loved ones with problems with short- term memory

I wanted to share something with you I found interesting. The part of the brain that controls memory and the part of the brain that controls emotions and feelings are different. Even if mom has damage to her short-term memory and doesn't always recall your visits or what you said or did, the feelings that you create while you are there are long lasting- so a happy, loving, sunny visit sustains her with a happy feeling long after you have left.

This is a link to an National Public Radio story- please give it a listen, very enlightening.
