Hi: I saw mom at lunch. She did better today eating her food and ate about
half of it vs. the typical 1/3rd. That's good because she is starting to
look skinny in her arms. She seemed very distracted, looking towards the
kitchen the whole time. I don't know who/what she was looking for, but I
could not keep her attention.
We called Jim on the phone and he spoke to her for a few minutes. He is on
his way back to Ohio and thinks he will be here about 7.00 or so. He told
mom they could watch wheel of fortune together. She smiled.
Rose sat with us at lunch and we talked some. It seems that Jewell is now
in the hospital. Nobody was sure which hospital she was in or why, but she
is admitted. Her book arrived today and I showed it to mom and Rose. Mom
and I read the first few pages after lunch, but she was rather sleepy so I
tilted her chair back and parked her by the fireplace for a rest. Marian
came by to see us and seems very interested and kind to Mom. I hope we make
progress on Mom's communication. Mom did go to PT this morning and said she
did well when asked.
She was a bit confused and a bit tired- she will be better after a rest.
