Update Ruth Ballis

SUNRISE AT LAKE ANNA
Hi Family: Jim Ballis is sick- he went to the doc today. if he is not contagious, he will be visiting mom, but if he is, we will need to fill in the void created by his inability to come in. I saw mom today from about 1-3.30. She was up in her chair and we went outside for an hour or so. There was also a band in today and we sat and listened to them for an hour. they were a couple older fellows who played marches and big band type music. Mom seemed to enjoy that.
I saw Heather while I was in. She said mom's hospice nurse was in this morning and got mom a shower. Heather was on break during that time, so she stayed with mom while the nurse worked to shower her. Heather said the nurse was very gentle and kind with mom and did a very good job in getting mom cleaned up. She said mom took to the nurse very well and was not traumatized by her shower. Her skin is a bit dry, so we need to make sure we keep up the lotion.
I also say Asia, mom's aide while I was in. She said that mom had normalized with her tube feeding and doing really well with BM etc.. Mom was still a bit leaned to the left side, but she was much more upright today. and held her head up a bit more today. She smiled when I arrived.
In eating her sucker, mom actually manipulated the sucker herself and sucked in the juices. I gave her the sucker and just had to watch to make sure it did not get too small (choking hazard).
If I am in tomorrow, it will be early in the day. I am doing a little bit better, I took a day off work today to rest.
Love to all
S
