update on Ruth Ballis

Hi Family: saw mom after work on Friday. She had her first sucker! Loved it. liked the blue ones.... sure got a lot of interaction when asking if she would like to have some more  of that the sucker. Mom had a good evening, Jim Cody and I got her bird feeders hung up outside her bedroom window, she can see them very well from her bed. Already today, I have seen 2 blue jays, a cardinal and many sparrows. we also got her hummingbird feeder up today and added red liquid for the birds. Cant wait to see them show up, right in the middle of the big window, you will not be able to miss them from mom's room.

Jim has worked with the nurses and aides to get mom up and down a couple hours at a time. This way, she has some up time among others and outside and some time laying down resting, comfortable in her bed. this works our good for her and Jim worked out the times so the nurses are not busy with lunch or dinner. this works good.

Jim and I were in to see mom on friday. Tonia Burch, Jim Ballis and I were in to see mom today, and I will be in tomorrow about 11 am. and will not be in over the afternoon. Terri will be back in Ohio next weekend- she is home - getting much needed rest I hope!

Mom's condition has improved somewhat since her return from the hospital. she is on a good schedule for feeding and hydration. We have had some cold weather here, so we were not outside today. But next week should be better.

Doug and Dawn- I can't remember if I already posted this, I have your grandmother's blanket. As it is warmer, I wanted to safekeep it. Mom's room needs less items in it as well. I have been trying to take out what is not immediately needed.  Let me know when you will be going up, I will make sure it is there for you to pick up.

Love to all
S
